TESTING PROGRAMS USED
All students in grades 3 - 8 will take the ISTEP+
(Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress) – the standardized test
used by the Diocese of Evansville and the State of Indiana. These students will
also be given an Aptitude test as part of ISTEP+. In order to be accredited by
the State of Indiana we must comply with the same testing requirements as the
public schools.
All students in grades 4, 5, and 7 will pilot the ISTEP+ test in September of
2003.
This test is administered to the 8th grade students
in January at Memorial and Mater Dei High Schools. Results from this test, as
well as teachers’ recommendations, are used for placement purposes in the
freshman year of High School.
Students with suspected learning disabilities or learning problems may become part of the education intervention process, which may result in testing by the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation.
The public school system provides limited services for GSS students who qualify with learning disabilities.
